Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan, officially the Republic of Uzbekistan, is a country in Central Asia with a population of about 37 million people. Its capital is Tashkent, and the official language is Uzbek; Russian and English are widely used in academia and tourism. For centuries the territory of present-day Uzbekistan lay at the heart of the Great Silk Road, and the historic cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The climate is continental, with hot, dry summers and mild autumns. Early October — the time of the conferences — is one of the most pleasant seasons, with daytime temperatures around 20–25 °C.
Citizens of more than 90 countries, including most European Union member states, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Türkiye and the CIS countries, may enter Uzbekistan without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. Most other nationals can obtain an electronic visa online at e-visa.gov.uz.
Qarshi
Qarshi is the administrative centre of the Qashqadaryo Region in southern Uzbekistan, with a population of about 280,000. The city is more than 2,700 years old: it grew up in the oasis of the Kashkadarya River, and caravans of the Great Silk Road once passed through it.
Today Qarshi is a modern regional centre known for its universities, bazaars and monuments such as the Odina complex and the Koʻk Gumbaz mosque. The city is served by Karshi International Airport and by rail, including trains from Tashkent via Samarkand.
University of Economics and Pedagogy
The conferences are organised by the University of Economics and Pedagogy, based in Qarshi. The university trains specialists in economics, business, pedagogy, languages and related fields, and hosts scientific and academic events throughout the year.
Its modern campus brings together lecture halls, laboratories and a research library. The university's academic staff, together with partner institutions from Uzbekistan and abroad, form the organising and programme committees of the conferences.

Travel and visa
Qarshi is reached by air via Karshi International Airport (KSQ), with connections through Tashkent, or by rail — daily trains link Tashkent and Qarshi via Samarkand. Check the current visa requirements for your citizenship well before travelling.
